Clock making enjoyed a golden age through the 17th and 18th centuries, particularly in England. Time keeping progressed from clocks with anaccuracy which justified only an hour hand, and then only affordable by the wealthy, to clocks with accuracy measured in minutes per week and the early beginnings of mass production bringing much wider ownership. This golden age was punctuated with a number of masterworks in clock making.
John C Taylor Masterworks
John C Taylor Ltd is creating a collection of replicas of these masterworks based on accurate measurements of the original clocks. Masterworks replicas extend the possibility of ownership of these wonderful clocks which are rarely available. The clocks are individually made by skilled craftsmen using the latest tools, techniques and materials.
